Are they really as selfish/using as people say?

If you're a donor to an energy vampire, here's a topic area for you to share tips, concerns, advice, and socialize with others who do the same.

Are they really as selfish/using as people say?

Postby PurestHeart » Thu Apr 23, 2009 7:03 am

I have heard from a lot of sources over the internet that psi vampires tend to be very narcissistic, needy, and manipulative ( not to mention show many symptoms of Borderline personality disorder ). I dont think I believe this but I want your opinions. A lot of the things I have read come from people who personally dislike psi vampires. Are some of the psi vampires like this, mostly unawakened ones? I am yet to meet a true psi vampire in real life so I want to know what you all think. Psi vampires are welcome to giv etheir input here as well.

i'm not sure, but my limited experience would indicate not. both the vamps i donate energy to (one's a hybrid the other a pure psi) are very kind and attentive.

i think the idea that psi-vamps are selfish or use people has two main sources. the first, obvious to us, is that psi-vamps who don't have their feeding under control will leave people feeling a little drained and tired.

a less obvious origin lies, i think, in the way people outside to vampire community use the term "energy vampire" (or "emotional vampire", or similar). most people who use those terms have no clue about real vampires and psi-energy. instead they mean people who e.g. will corner them in the office and bore them to death with their chatter, or who manipulate them into worrying about somebody when really there's nothing to worry about, and stuff like that. of course some psi-vamps do behave like that, but most people who behave like that are not vampires. yet that is who most people think of when they speak of emotional or energy vampires, and people who behave like that are almost by definition a bit selfish/using.

"psi vampires tend to be very narcissistic, needy, and manipulative " is a very general statement. Yes, some psi's are needy and annoying, but so are regular people, as are some sang's too. People are people are people, and you cant bunch any minority into a generality like that. I'd say, for the most part, vampires are pretty cool people (lol, not to toot my own horn or anything here) and are usually not out to make your life a living hell.

I haven't noticed a particular trend like that among vamps. Many vamps I know would bend over backward to help out friends.

I think it depends on the source your looking at. There is information that comes from those we know of as energy vamps and there is information that comes primarily out of the pagan and occult communities and may or may not actually be about those we think of as energy vamps. The information that the original poster of this thread mentions tends to come from the pagan occult camp. I call them the Dion Forutne vamps as she is one of the first people to publish about them and yes these people do exist and a lot of times unaware energy vamps can be like this especially when hungry.

I've known a few psy vampires, and while one meets that unflattering list, the others don't really, and the one I donate to right now is pretty awesome. The ones I've known HAVE been more depressive, and a lot of that is due to when they can nom-nom properly. I can't always be there to donate to my best friend, and it definitely affects his mood if he can only feed off the Earth, or stray energy coming off an excited crowd. I guess that can be taken as selfishness as their mood can be dependent on one's willingness to give, and sometimes, a donor really CAN'T give at that time. Not saying they'll hate you, but they'll certainly be more cranky if their energy is low.

In my opinion and experience, yes, psy vamps are needy, selfish and manipulative and often leave you open; "bleeding".

I'm sure there are Psy-vamps out there that don't fit this discription, but I have yet to meet one.

When I think over the list of psy-vamps I know and have known, I can think of very few who come close to that negative description.
I know quite a few of them, too.

You're right, Wolf. That was pretty negative, and I apologize.
